The Bernardsville Police Department and the Bernardsville Office of Emergency Management strongly encourage residents and employees of local businesses to learn about the programs below, and sign up for each one that is relevant.

Sign up for Smart911 alerts in Bernardsville so we can reach you with urgent and important messages specifically for residents of Bernardsville Borough.

Your personal information is NOT shared with the Bernardsville Police Department. Smart911 sends our alerts to you based on what you enter when you sign up.

Do you have special needs in your household, like family members who rely on medical devices, or persons with limited mobility? Tell Smart911 so we can reach you with extra help in the event of a weather emergency, extended power outage, or similar situation.

Do you have special skills you could use to help your neighbors in an emergency? If you register with Smart911, we can reach you if there is a chance for you to help — preserving your privacy while giving you the choice to respond.

We suggest that ALL who live, work, or send children to school in Bernardsville sign up for Smart911 alerts. Specift your work or school address in Bernardsville so that you will receive our alerts even if your home is elsewhere.

Do you use assistive medical devices such as oxygen, use a wheel chair, have a vision or hearing disability, register with a medical alert program, have a private well, or utilize other life support or assistive equipment?

If so, please register for the Bernardsville OEM Special Assistance Program to help our local emergency services to prepare and respond to emergencies. Your participation in the “Special Assistance Registration Program” is voluntary. All information will be kept on file at the Bernardsville Police Department. Every attempt will be made to keep the information confidential. Information received will not be shared with anyone other than emergency responders.

“Register Ready – New Jersey’s Special Needs Registry for Disasters” allows New Jersey residents with disabilities or access and functional needs and their families, friends, caregivers and associates an opportunity to provide information to emergency response agencies so emergency responders can better plan to serve them in a disaster or other emergency.

The information collected here is confidential and will not be available to the public. The information will be held securely and only used for emergency response and planning.
